- No, you do not need to file this petition or get a court order to get a new California birth certificate showing a gender change. You can ask the State Registrar directly.
- Who can use this form?
- This form can only be used by individuals who are 18 years old or older. Minors must use a different form (NC-500).
- Is there a fee?
- A filing fee will be charged unless you qualify for a fee waiver. You can find information on applying for a fee waiver using form FW-001.
