- This form explains when the court can keep a child's juvenile records private (seal them) after completing probation. It also explains what happens if the records are sealed and who can still see them.
- If my records are sealed, do I have to report the offenses on job or school applications?
- No, once the records are sealed, the law treats those offenses as if they did not happen, and you do not need to report them. However, the military and some federal agencies might still know about your history.
- If I want my records sealed, what must happen?
- The court may seal records if the case is closed because probation was satisfactorily completed. If the court does not find probation was completed satisfactorily, the person must ask the court to seal the records later.
