Common questions
- What is this form?
- This is an information sheet that explains how to ask the court to reschedule a hearing in family court. It is not a form to file with the court.
- Do I need to file papers if I and the other party agree to reschedule?
- If you and the other party have a written agreement, you can present it to the court on the day of the hearing, but it is best to file it at least five days before that date.
- What if I just show up at the hearing and ask to reschedule?
- If you appear in court on the day of the hearing and ask to reschedule, you must use the Order on Request to Reschedule Hearing (form FL-309) and submit a proposed order to the court.
