What is the CARE Act?
CARE stands for Community Assistance, Recovery, and Empowerment. It is a way to get court-ordered treatment, services, support, and a housing plan for certain adults with specific mental health disorders.
Do I have to pay for an attorney?
You have the right to an interpreter, free of charge, at every CARE Act court hearing. You may also choose an attorney, but if you choose your own, you are responsible for their fees.
