Rejection of Award and Request for Trial After Attorney-Client Fee Arbitration

California · Judicial Council of California · Effective January 1, 2024

This form is used to tell the court that a person disagrees with a decision (award) made by an arbitrator about who owes money for attorney fees. It asks the court to hold a trial to decide the fee dispute instead of accepting the arbitrator's decision.

The court describes it as: Ask for a trial by the court after an arbitrator’s decision (award) made in a special arbitration program for disputes between attorneys and clients over attorney fees. Use this form only for awards that you are free to reject (nonbinding awards) made in arbitrations done under Business and Professions Code sections 6200-6206.
